About Us

Have you ever had a dream, an amazing dream? I have been very fortunate recently, to be able to live my dream. It all started when I was a young child. I loved everything soft and fuzzy, especially cats. I had one cat growing up. She lived a long, old life, and cemented in me my love for the long haired cats. She was a rescue cat that friends from our church had found in a big dumpster. We loved her dearly. She was a beautiful long haired, cream cat we called Vanilla.

We have an amazing God that knows us and our needs and wishes. I feel very blessed because he brought the most wonderful man into my life. He was a farmer and lived on a working wheat and cattle farm. We got married and I was in heaven on Earth. Not only did I have the best guy in the whole world, I had animals. LOTS of animals. Cats, dogs, chickens, ducks, geese, cattle, a horse, a pet rabbit, and there was more as time went. Of course we also had house cats. Time passed, along came kids, and the house cats lived their long happy lives, then they were gone. Life seemed different without my beloved house cats, and I had known for many years that I wanted to raise registered cats. I had been doing research on and off, for over 10 years. I knew it would be a long haired breed, but I just wasn’t sure which one, till one day, I found two of the most beautiful Himalayans advertised online. I read the add and discovered that the breeder was retiring and selling all 10 of her adult Himalayans. Ok, now I had to spend some time with Jesus in prayer. Was this His will for me? Are these the right cats? Is this the right time?…… I think I prayed for hours, asking God all kinds of questions. Most of all, I wanted to be sure that this was His will. So that is exactly what I prayed. Lord if this is your will, open this door, and let everything work out. I contacted the lady, and went for a visit. Oh, my goodness!!!!, they were the most beautiful cats in the world. Everything that I had ever dreamed of. I wasn’t the only person interested in the cats, and I was very scared that maybe she would decide that someone else would be the new owner of the cats. I went home praying all the way, and it was several hours drive. When I got home that night, I emailed her my thoughts, wishes, and prayers, then left it in the Lord’s hands. She emailed me right back that next morning saying that she also had been praying for the right person to come along and be the new owner of the cats. We both knew it was God’s working in the situation. Talk about a dream come true.

So now I am the very happy and blessed owner of Harvest Hill Himalayan cats. I am having a ball. I have about 4-5 litters of kittens each year, and absolutely love every one of these sweet babies. I tell God that these are his cats. He is the one that worked it out, and I pray that I can be a blessing to each and everyone that gets one of my sweet babies. I hope by now that you can tell that I am a born again Christian, and I give all the praise and glory to God. He is an awesome God and is always there for us. Even if this is my dream come true, things don’t always go as we would like them to, but I just remember He loves us and wants to be involved in our lives; if things are going great, and when things are tough. It is comforting to know that He is always there for me and with me. I think of all my cats as a gift from God. Thank you God.

Every good and perfect gift is from above…. James 1:7

My wish here at Harvest Hill Himalayans is to raise happy, health kittens that will give you as much love and joy as we have received from them. I treasure every kitten, and they are all played with and handled from the day that they are born. Most kittens are born in a spare bedroom, then spend the first 4-5 weeks in the living room with us.  When they start crawling out of their nest box, they are moved to an area where I set up many litter boxes and their food and water where their mom teaches them what they need to know. As soon as the kittens are all litter box trained, they have free run of the house. Kittens usually leave for their new homes when they are around 12 weeks of age. Each kittens is different, so timing will vary as I evaluate if a kitten is ready for it’s new home. My kids have now grown up and so I do most of the kitty socializing with the help of some of the grandkids when they come for a visit.  When they come to your house, I have done my best to make sure the switch will be as easy as possible and that they are ready for anything, but as we all know, each kitten is very different from the next and they all have their own personalities. Even though they are all raised the same, some will be very outgoing, others more laid back. Some will be go getters, some the class clown. Some will be the cuddle bugs that can’t get enough lap time, others will want to sit close by and watch you. I will try to describe each kitten as best as I can, so you can get a good match for your family. Above all, I want to know that each kitten that I sell is loved, respected, and taken care of for the rest of it’s life. Don’t be surprised if I ask you some questions about your household and the kind of home you can provide for a sweet, precious kitten. I Love all of my kittens and only want the best for them.

When each kitten leaves for it’s new forever home, it will be up to date on shots, be wormed, litter box and scratching post trained, have a spay/neuter contract with health guarantee, health record, toys, kitten food, and CFA registration papers will be provided when I have received proof of them being fixed. I will also be available to you if you have questions or need help or support with your new kitten.

Most of my kittens are sold as forever, loving pets. If you are interested in breeding rights, they are extra and are not available with all kittens. Email me first, and we will see what we can work out. Thanks for checking out my website, email me if you have any questions at himalayans@live.com. Karen
